Despite the setback in the interior of the state, the Albiverde team is ahead of Flamengo with one more win.

The Palmeiras coach said this in a direct speech. Abel Ferreiraheld a press conference on Sunday night and acknowledged the superiority of . mirasol The 2-1 reversal left the team with 68 points, and Flamengo now leads the league. Brazil (The Sao Paulo team is in first place with one more win than the Rio team).

“I don’t want to make excuses. Mirasol were good on all levels today and deserved to win. They played well, were efficient and deserved a good result at home,” the Palmeiras coach said in a press conference.

In a conversation with journalists, Abel used the opportunity to praise the achievements of his coach, Rafael Guanes. “It’s a team with a very good defense, two very big center forwards, a very physical team that poses a lot of difficulties for the opponents. They are a rival who exposes themselves and today they were much better than Palmeiras. They are very well trained,” he said.

Asked about the fact that his team has underperformed against the top six teams in the Brazilian Championship, the coach focused on their performance against Mirasol. “There are only six teams in the championship? Will we only play against the G-6? What I’m curious about is how we played today.”

The coach said he will analyze the mistakes that led to Mirasol’s two goals and make sure they don’t happen again. The commander commented, “We’re going to analyze it, but there will definitely be things we don’t want to see.”

The Portuguese coach was also fond of praising other teams in the championship, where Palmeiras and Flamengo are entering the final stretch as favorites. “We see a very good team and a very balanced championship. Mirasol itself is an example of that,” he commented.

Palmeiras conceded the first goal just two minutes into the match. Paraguayan defender Gustavo Gomez was troubled by being at a disadvantage from the start. “We didn’t play very well, we weren’t physical and we conceded goals quickly. We can’t afford to concede goals like that as the championship leaders. We have to correct these mistakes,” said the defender.
