Neymar was one of the protagonists of the match between Santos and Flamengo in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship at the Maracanã on Sunday night 2009, which ended in a 3–2 victory for the Reds and Blacks.
After the duel, No. 10 was caught carrying a black Flamengo shirt on his shoulder and signing a blue Maracanã ball. On the field, Rubro Negro fans provoked the star by chanting: “Neymar, damn it, he’s back at Santos to play in Serie B!”.
Flamengo had previously considered signing the star player, but negotiations failed to progress.
After a break due to another FIFA schedule, Santos, who is 17th in the Brazilian Championship, will return to the field next Saturday (15th) at 9pm in a delayed match of matchday 13 of the Brasileirão against Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro.
