The abstention rate on the first day of Enem (National High School Entrance Examination) held this Sunday (9th) was 27%, almost the same as in 2024 (26.6%). Education Minister Camilo Santana said the results showed that exam attendance was stable.

Testing was carried out in 1,805 municipalities, 11,791 test sites and approximately 165,000 rooms. The answer key will be released on Thursday (13th) and the final results will be delivered in January 2026.

Testing will be reapplied in Paraná on December 16th and 17th. The state was hit by a cyclone last weekend, leaving six people dead. Candidates wishing to attend these dates must request to reapply between November 17th and 21st.

“Yesterday (Saturday) I called the governor to ensure that the entire province is ready for recovery, especially in the city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, which was the most affected. There was no application in that city, but everyone who wants to reapply will have the right to do so,” the minister said at a press conference at Inep (National Institute for Educational Research and Research, Anísio Teixeira), the institution responsible for the exam.

3,240 participants were excluded from the exam for reasons such as bringing in electronic devices or leaving the exam center with question books 30 minutes before the end of the exam.

According to the ministry, there were no serious accidents during this year’s exams. Registration numbers also increased by 11% compared to the 2024 edition and 38% compared to the 2022 edition.

In today’s exam, in addition to an essay on the theme of “Brazilian society’s view of aging”, questions related to language, code and its technology, and human science were also asked. Beauty standards, religiosity, and energy shifts were some of the topics covered in this year’s questions.

According to Enem Panel data, this year’s exams saw 4.8 million registrations. Of the total, 1.8 million are students who graduated from high school.

Due to COP30, Candidates from Belém, Ananindeua and Marituba in Pará will take their exams on different days, Inep said. They must take the test on November 30th and December 7th.

The gate to the exam center opened at noon and closed at 1 p.m. The actual exam started at 1:30pm and consisted of 90 objective questions and an essay. The test lasted until 7 p.m., with a maximum completion time of 5.5 hours.

This year, the Enem test is once again a viable method for high school certification. Over 98,000 registrants have requested certification. This testing also included the use of metal detectors in all classes and an increase in the number of applicators.
