“Avenida Brasil” (2012), one of the most successful melodramas on Brazilian television, has been given an international version. The serial, written by João Emmanuel Carneiro, known for its revenge plots, will be remade in Turkey and a release date has already been set in Brazil.
The melodrama titled “Leila – Shadows of the Past” tells the story of Leila, a young woman seeking revenge on Noor, who ruined her childhood. The two characters played by Camle Beisel and Gonça Vslateli are inspired by Nina (Deborah Falabella) and Carminha (Adriana Estevez).
The 127-episode melodrama promises to maintain the essence of the plot of Avenida Brasil, but focuses on the culture and aesthetics of the Turkish productions that have become so famous in Brazil.
The film will premiere on Globoplay on November 24th and will also air on TV from December 15th on the Globoplay Novelas channel (formerly Viva).
