Joaquín Romera, Vice-President of the Toledo Regional Council, accompanied by Gálvez Mayor Manuel Fernández, inaugurated the new facility at a large event attended by several hundred residents.
The day included a traditional ribbon cutting, unveiling of a commemorative plaque, and a blessing from a local priest.
The total investment, primarily funded by the Toledo State Legislature, was 90,000 euros through an extraordinary investment plan; Meanwhile, the Galvez City Council contributed the remaining 15%.
According to the Vice President, “This project is another example of the state agency’s commitment to the municipality of Toledo to promote projects that improve local infrastructure and enhance the coexistence of residents.”
In his speech, Joaquín Romera also wanted to emphasize that “this multipurpose room is the best example of what we can achieve when agencies work together for the well-being of our people. The Toledo County Council works with local governments to promote projects that transform our towns and improve the lives of our neighbors.”
Gálvez Mayor Manuel Fernández thanked the Legislature for its support and emphasized that “this new space is the result of everyone’s commitment to making Gálvez a more vibrant and socially active city.”
The councilor recalled that the building was “part of our history and today reopened as a cultural and leisure facility after being closed for many years”, explaining that “the new hall will be available for associations, school activities, exhibitions, rehearsals for local groups, skating and neighborhood celebrations”.
Romera encouraged attendees to “fill this multipurpose space with life” and use it as a gathering place for concerts, parties and local performances, stressing that the restoration of the silo “is a wise investment that serves the people.”
