By imposing VAT, the Treasury would legally but unfairly profit from donations and keep a portion of it. The lowest food tax relief rate is 4%. 10 for meat and fish and 21 for alcoholic beverages, but logically most of what these banks get supports 4%, and I don’t think I’m wrong in asserting that the majority, probably all, of the bank’s staff are volunteers and unpaid. In summary and numbers, for every 100,000 euros donated, 4,000 euros will go to the national treasury, which is not fair.
