Liberal Party (PL) leader Mueller and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro defended the “healthy submission of wives to their husbands” last Saturday (August 11). She also called on right-wing women to enter politics to fight those who “advocate the death of innocent babies in their mothers’ wombs.” The speech took place at a PL Müller event in Londrina (PR).
Feminists don’t like me saying that. I am a housemaid and my husband’s assistant. I understand my mission as a woman. I’m precious. I know my mission. I understand my purpose on earth. And if I say yes, I’m a helper. The Bible talks about the submission of wives to their husbands, and that is healthy submission,” Michelle said.
The former first lady argued that the Bible has a context that speaks about obedience and that husbands should love their wives “as God loved the world.” “A woman who cooks delicious food for her husband doesn’t look down on you as a woman; it creates an emotional connection,” Michelle added.

She also singled out the PT and PSol as parties with female members who criticize left-wing women and demonize male figures, saying: “We are not here to demonize male figures. It is perfectly appropriate to do this, but feminist, left-wing MPs from the PT and PSol.”
Speaking at the event, Michel also defended Jair Bolsonaro (PL) as the only option for Brazil’s right, saying: “If that doesn’t happen, there will be no democracy in Brazil. This is a real blow that the judiciary is inflicting on good people.”
The former president was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison without qualification for leading a coup plot to stay in power after losing the 2022 election.
