of Bogotá Mobility Secretariat I have been notified of the application for peak and plate For this day. Here’s more information about this vehicle restriction program and how to avoid penalties.
Pay attention to your car’s license plate finish, vehicle type, and time of day to see if you can drive without repercussions.
The program aims to reduce the circulation of vehicles within the framework of a comprehensive program to reduce urban vehicular traffic and high levels of environmental pollution.
Since 1998, Pico y Placa has been applied in Bogota and has been in operation for over 20 years. According to the mayor’s office, this is the restriction schedule for June 8 of this year.

This is how the vehicle restriction program known as Pico y Plate works.
Private vehicles are divided into two groups based on the last digit of their license plate. The first consists of cars ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, and the second consists of cars ending in 6, 7, 8, 9, or 0.
Currently, private cars ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 will not circulate on even-numbered days. However, if your number ends in 6, 7, 8, 9, or 0, you cannot travel on odd days.

Private car opening hours in Pico y Placa: 6am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays.
For taxis and special transport service vehicles, the vehicle ban is divided into two groups. 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 0. Limits for these two types of vehicles change weekly, so it’s important to stay informed.
Freight vehicles, on the other hand, cannot travel during the prohibited hours of Pico y Placa and can only travel on Saturdays, subject to the weight and age of the cargo being transported.
Unlike private vehicles, vehicle restrictions apply Monday through Friday for taxis, special transport services, and freight.

These include electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, zero-emission vehicles, motorcycles, diplomatic vehicles, funeral parlors, emergency security vehicles, vehicles transporting disabled persons, traffic control vehicles and tow trucks, media vehicles, law enforcement agencies, school transportation vehicles, vehicles intended for driving education, and vehicles carrying three or more people throughout the journey.
In order for your car to benefit from the exception, i.e. to ensure that its circulation in Pico y Placa is not affected, it must be registered in advance with the Bogotá Mobility Secretariat.
If your car is not on the list of exceptions, but you want to circulate it around Bogota every day, you have the possibility to apply for the so-called “Pico y Praca Solidario”. This is a permit that allows drivers to choose days, weeks or months to freely circulate around the city in exchange for an economic contribution, and is aimed at improving the integrated public transport system of Colombian cities.
In addition to traditional vehicle regulations, Bogotá has regulations called the Pico y Placa Regional Regulations, which apply on the last day of every holiday weekend on the nine access corridors to the Colombian city.
The restriction on vehicles with license plates ending in odd numbers is from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The ban will run from 4 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting at 4 p.m. for even-numbered vehicles. and ends at 8 p.m.

The nine approaches to Bogota where regional peaks and plates apply are:
Northern Expressway: From the Andes tollgate to the North Portal.
South Expressway: From the city limits of Soacha to Calle Boyaca.
Centenario Avenue (13th Street): From the Bogotá River to Calle Ciudad de Cali (Calla Carrera 86).
80th Street: From Guadua Bridge to Portal 80.
Carrera 7 Avenue: From 245th Street to 183rd Street.
Via Llano Boyaca Street: From the Algerino Duran Quintero tunnel to the old road to Llano.
Via Suba Kota: From the Bogota River to 170th Street.
Via La Carrera: From Patios Toll Gate to Carrera 7 Avenue.
Route to Choachi: From the road to Monserrate to the ring road.
Exception vehicles that do not apply to regional peaks and plates are vehicles with three or more occupants, health care worker vehicles, or vehicles with solidarity peaks and plates.
If either version violates Pico y Placa, Bogota authorities have a system of economic sanctions in place.
The fine for 2023 amounts to 522,900 Colombian Pesos, and the vehicle will also be immobilized as indicated in the violation of National Traffic Code C.14.
