US President Donald Trump granted broad pardons to around 80 people, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows and John Eastman, for their role in “exposing election fraud” in the 2020 election that he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
“I grant a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to all Americans for any and all actions related to efforts to expose election fraud and election vulnerabilities,” he said in a document published by Justice Department pardon attorney Ed Martin on his personal social network X account. The document also includes a list of 77 people who benefited from the measure.
The White House tenants are being defended by an order that states it “does not apply to the President of the United States,” and “continues the process of national reconciliation and ending the grave national injustice committed against the American people after the 2020 presidential election.” The amnesty will prevent future administrations from filing criminal charges against those affected.
Among the beneficiaries of the pardon is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Mark Meadows, President Trump’s chief of staff in 2020. attorneys John Eastman and Kenneth Chesebro; Boris Epshteyn, advisor to President Trump. That includes several former Republican Party chairmen from states such as Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.
