Super Astro has two draws that are played almost daily:
- Super Astro Sol is celebrated Monday through Saturday at 4 p.m.
- Super Astro Luna is celebrated Monday through Friday at 10:50 pm and Saturday at 10:45 pm. 8:30pm on Sundays and holidays.
To claim a prize at Super Astro, you will need to present different documents depending on the value of the prize, measured in UVT (Tax Units).
For prizes less than 48 UVT (approximately Php 2,259,120), you must submit a properly completed original ticket, original ID, and a 150% enlarged copy. These prizes are typically paid out at authorized retailers such as Su Red and Supergiros.
For prizes between 48 and 181 UVT (approximately $2,259,120 – $8,518,765), in addition to the above, you must complete a SIPLAFT (Inclusive System for Anti-Money Laundering) form located at the point of sale.
For prizes over 181 UVT ($8,518,765 or more), the above documents and a bank certificate in the winner’s name must be presented within 30 days. Payments via bank transfer will be made within approximately 8 business days.
It is important that the original ticket is in good condition with no dents or alterations, and that the copy of your ID is legible.
To participate and have a chance to win billions of pesos worth of Super Astro prizes, you must first go to any Su Red or Super Giros outlet. Or, if you prefer to do it online, you can visit the official website or download the application from one of the two authorized distributors.
Next, you must choose a winning combination consisting of four numbers from 0 to 9 and a zodiac sign. You can also choose any of the 12 zodiac signs to increase your chances of winning.
If the stake is defined, you will have to pay between 500 and 10,000 pesos per ticket. The higher the payout, the bigger the winning prize.
To win the jackpot, the four numbers and the sign of your wager must match the day’s outcome, but two correct answers could earn you a reward.
The jackpot prize, the prize for the person who guesses the four numbers and symbols, is determined by 42,000 times the stake. The person who guesses three of the numbers and signs will receive an amount awarded by multiplying their bet by 1,000. On the other hand, the person who guesses the two digits and the symbol wins 100 times their stake.
Please note that prizes valued at less than 182 UVT ($8,565,830) will be paid at each reseller’s authorized point of sale. For prizes of 182 UV and above, winners will be required to go to a SuRed or Super Giros point of sale to be officially recognized as a winner, after which the prize will be paid via check at the West Bank office.
Super Astro prizes are subject to two main taxes.
20% withholding tax. This applies only to prizes of 48 UVT (approximately $1,709,136 to P2,259,120 depending on source) or more. This withholding is equivalent to a tax on winnings won in games of chance or chance.
Financial Movement Tax (GMF) or 4×1000 tax. It is levied on financial transactions carried out when depositing or withdrawing winnings. This tax is indirect and is borne by the recipient of the prize.
Additionally, for prizes over 182 UVT (approximately $6,600,000 or $8,500,000 according to various sources), payment will be made by bank transfer and these discounts will be applied before the winner receives the net amount. These taxes are mandatory and are withheld to ensure compliance with Colombian tax regulations.
