The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Julián Martínez Rizan, chaired the new Plan Axis 6 meeting this Monday, during which he said: The relevance of local government to the countryside“Of the more than 15 billion euros provided for in the whole agreement, 4,000 euros supports the activities of our ministries,” he recalled.
As Martínez Rizan explained, the new axis corresponding to his department is structured as follows:Three main lines of action – Agriculture and Livestock, Agri-Food Industry and Rural Development – integrates nine goals and 34 measures. “We hope that this agreement is a true reflection of the previous agreement, which delivered commendable results,” he stressed.
The first line is dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry and will take the following measures: Cultivation method compatible with environmental protection The aim is not only to conserve biodiversity, but also to professionalize the sector and increase the competitiveness of farms.
The second line focuses on the agricultural and food industries, Improving product efficiency and added value through innovation and the use of new technologies to promote association and business cooperation to strengthen and scale up the dissemination and marketing of agricultural products.
Finally, the third line, dedicated to rural development, aims to: entrepreneurship in the countrysidethe profitability and sustainability of agricultural holdings as a tool to arrest population decline, digitalization and innovation in the agricultural sector and the economic and social revitalization of the rural environment.
98% of measures completed
At the same conference, Mr. Martínez Rizan presented the balance of Axis 6 of the Agreement on Economic Revitalization and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha for the period 2021-2024, stressing that 98% of the planned measures have been implemented and that in the lines under the jurisdiction of his department:“The execution was carried out 100 percent.”
“The data is very clear. We have implemented 100% of the measures that correspond to the three lines that remain within the competence of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development. This water now belongs to sustainable development, while the remaining lines are fully compliant,” the counselor said.
The previous Axis 6 included 29 measures and 321 actions; And budget-wise, 110% execution has been achieved, “suggesting that more resources were allocated than originally planned,” he added.
The presentation of the new axis was attended by more than 40 representatives from various departments of local government.specialized agricultural organizations, agri-food cooperatives, irrigation federations, rural development groups, financial institutions, organizations of business and trade unions, and associations of economic and productive structures.
Martínez Rizan underlined the importance of this cooperation to “maintain a permanent dialogue with all stakeholders in the agro-food and rural sector” and stressed that Horizon 2030 will ensure “the commitment of the local government to the strategic sector of Castilla-La Mancha, which is essential for employment, sustainability and territorial cohesion”.
