Dramatic events occurred in 1955 from 23 to 24/Web
At around 6:20 a.m. yesterday, a man and his partner from another town were returning to their accommodation in District 55 after attending a party on the 23rd and 24th when they were attacked by the perpetrators. The sun had already risen and the city was beginning to wake up, but the fear remained at dawn.
The victims parked their car a block away from the temporary apartment where they were staying, unaware that two figures on motorcycles were watching them in the dark, a spokeswoman said. Within seconds, a motorcycle pulled up next to him and the passenger got out, holding what appeared to be a firearm.
There were no shouts, just dry orders spoken with the confidence that only someone experienced in this type of operation could have. “Give me the keys. Give me the money,” a voice demanded from behind the helmet.
The couple was paralyzed. Impulsively, she ran towards the building in search of shelter. After realizing the threat, he handed over his car keys, jacket and about 30,000 pesos in cash.
It all happened in less than a minute, and the whole trip home turned into a nightmare.
The attackers returned to their motorcycles and fled down 55th Street at full speed.
The large motorcycle disappeared into the shadows before anyone could react. The victim, shaking and in a state of shock, rushed to the building where his partner was waiting.
There were no witnesses in the area and no film material could be collected because “no one had a camera” in the block.
Several neighbors who were awake at the time said they heard the roar of motorcycles and a sudden silence.
Investigators believe the perpetrators were aware of the terrain and acted accurately.
The scheme, involving two armed men on motorcycles wearing helmets and black clothes, is repeated in various parts of La Plata in the early morning hours, taking advantage of the solitude of the streets and the carelessness of people returning home late.
For years, these attacks continued throughout the city. Attacks began to occur in the center of La Plata, more specifically in the banking district, but over the years, car thugs expanded their “hunting grounds.” These types of attacks can now occur anywhere.
A 49-year-old worker who was the victim of a robbery not only lost his car and money, but also his peace of mind. “It was a minute of eternity,” he later said. The case was classified as a “qualified robbery.” Police are working to identify the suspect and locate the motorcycle used.
