Man found dead on the road to El Dia/Punta Lara
This area has once again been the scene of two tragic incidents that are the subject of judicial investigations. Less than 24 hours later, a man was found dead in a car in Ensenada and another was found dead in the elevator shaft of a central building in La Plata. In both cases, initial reports suggest suicide.
The first episode occurred at diagonal 74, the level of Chamse’s compound towards Punta Lara. Officers patrolling the area noticed a gray Volkswagen Golf car parked on the side of the road. As they approached, they found a man lying on the grass, unresponsive to calls. When he was rescued, they found him dead.
According to court proceedings, the victim was identified as Miguel Ángel Escapil, 69, a resident of the town of Ranchos in Buenos Aires. Personal belongings, cash and firearms were found at the scene, as well as letters addressed to family members and the prosecutor who intervened. The task of the experts was supervised by the Ensenada Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the case was handed over to the UFI No. 11 of the La Plata Justice Department under the name of “suicide.”
The second incident was reported between 8 and 9 o’clock in the center of La Plata, at number 48. Local DDI officers conducting an investigation as part of a search for his whereabouts that began several days earlier found the body of 60-year-old Marcelo Aldo Rodriguez in the elevator shaft of the building where he lived.
Officials said the discovery was made within the framework of a tracing operation after relatives reported his disappearance. Based on the condition of the body, it was assumed that he had died several days ago. The investigation of this incident was carried out by UFI No.11.
