However, this is not the first time the device has been used in a tournament organized by Conmebol. So far, the innovation has been introduced in the 2024 Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana finals, as well as in two Recopa matches this season.

A total of 24 special cameras will be installed around the Monumental and Defensor del Chaco stadiums. For goals, which define whether the ball has fully crossed the goal line, 14 cameras will be available, in addition to 10 for semi-automatic offside.
The first final in which this technology will be used again will be the Copa Sudamericana. On November 22, at 5pm (Brasilia time), Atlético-MG x Lanus will face off at the Defendres del Chaco Stadium in Assuncao-Pal for the South American Championship. The Libertadores will then be decided next Saturday (11/29) in Lima, Peru, when Flamengo and Palmeiras will face off in the coveted cup match.
