Ex-convict Cristian Clavinhos, who was sentenced to 40 years in prison for murder and attempted bribery a day after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in the Campo Bello neighborhood in the southern district of São Paulo, received 15 stitches on his face and is recuperating at home. He turned 50 on the 21st and shot to fame in 2002 for the beating death of Suzanne von Richthofen’s mother. He is serving his sentence in public and told GLOBO he is still in severe pain after the attack on Tuesday afternoon (12th).

Cristian was riding a silver Yamaha Factor DX, model 2025, when he collided with a car crossing the highway at the intersection of Avenida Gesuino Maciel and Avenida Cristovan Pereira. There are no traffic lights at the intersection. As hoped, the driver, a 22-year-old youth, assumed responsibility at the scene.
— I didn’t even have time to brake. I threw my bike sideways and collided head-on. Christian reported that the car’s left headlight hit me in the face.
The impact broke the visor of his helmet and caused deep cuts to his head and face.
— 12 stitches in the head and three in the face — he said.
He was rescued by Sam’s team and taken to the emergency room at Villa Mariana, where he was discharged hours later. He is now recovering at home from the pain and fear.
— The doctor gave me a weak medication, but I had it changed because I felt like my whole body was hurting — he said.
This bike was freshly serviced and had only 1,000 kilometers on it. The vehicle is insured, but there is no collision coverage.
— Significant damage to the left side, fairing and tank, but not a complete loss — he assessed.
Immediately after the accident, a military police vehicle arrived at the scene. Because he was in public, Cristian’s documents and criminal history were rigorously checked.
— The police officer was polite and had a proper demeanor. It didn’t feel like we were in Brazil. he joked, adding that despite the cordial treatment, he admitted to being upset. — It was scary. I’ve been through this too and I know if I do something wrong I can be sent back to prison.
That memory is from 2018, when he was also riding a motorcycle and was arrested for attempted bribery during a police stop in Sorocaba. At that time, he violated the rules of the public regime, which led to him being deprived of his freedom and sentenced to an additional four years in prison.

Christian’s bike journey
In fact, motorcycles have always been a symbol of Christian’s career. In 2002, after Suzanne von Richthofen’s parents were murdered, he used some of the money he stole from the family safe to buy a Suzuki GSX-R1100, which ended up being taken away by the police. In 2018, although currently freelancing, he was arrested again while riding a Yamaha MT-09 ABS.
Since the debut of the Tremembé series on Prime Video, Cristian has returned to the spotlight. He gained thousands of followers on Instagram and began receiving messages of support and curiosity. A friend with ties to Candomblé warned him about the possibility that this sudden revelation would “open up his spiritual realm to negative energy.” He recommended keeping the navel covered in the shower to close the chakra and avoid negative effects.
– She said I was too open and that I needed to protect myself spiritually because of fame. Within 30 days of the series being released, 100 million people viewed my Instagram profile – he said proudly.
Cristian also revealed that he was worried when he was taken to the emergency room at Vila Mariana. That fear stems from the experience of his brother, Daniel Clavinhos. He was also involved in a motorcycle accident a few years ago and was treated harshly by a doctor who admitted to the crime.
— My brother even had stitches done at home afterward because he was afraid of being mistreated by medical personnel.
