La Plata’s Correctional Court No. 4 sentenced Matias Adrián Blanco, an kinesiologist who was found guilty of sexually abusing three women he treated in his office in the city of Canuelas, to three years and four months in prison. Additionally, the judgment established a special and permanent disqualification from his profession.
The resolution, signed by Judge Claudia Greco on November 10, 2025, considered that the events that occurred between 2019 and 2021 should be proven, and emphasized the seriousness of the abuse of power and trust in the therapeutic bond. In his ruling, the judge deemed the victim’s story to be “coherent, consistent and consistent” and consistent throughout the judicial process.
Psychological reports and testimony from relatives strengthened the accusers’ credibility by describing the emotional impact and behavioral changes following the attack. The judge also emphasized that the three women did not know each other, which he said ruled out any possibility of systematic or false accusations.
During the trial, Blanco denied the accusations and asserted that the alleged friction could be due to medical treatment. However, the court rejected the defendant’s defense, finding that the defendant had demonstrated a repeated pattern of behavior in which he used his professional position to violate patient privacy.
Prosecutors asked for his immediate arrest, but the court decided to release him pending sentencing. The judge assessed the convict’s occupational status, the number of victims and the psychological damage caused as aggravating factors. As a result of this ruling, the Department of Justice of La Plata will refocus on the ethical responsibilities of medical professionals and the protection of trust in the field of treatment.
