Ryanair has officially moved to only accepting 100% digital boarding passes, meaning passengers will no longer be able to download and print paper boarding passes.
In this way, airline customers need to board their Ryanair flights using the digital boarding pass generated in the myRyanair application at check-in. Ryanair claims the move will provide a “faster, smarter and more sustainable” travel experience. Furthermore, the company estimates that this measure could result in annual savings of up to 40 million euros.
Ryanair marketing director Dara Brady said the airline was less than a week away from moving to 100% digital boarding passes. This means passengers will no longer be able to download and print paper boarding passes from Wednesday.
For this reason, the airline said that 80% of its passengers are already using digital boarding passes, but reminded the remaining passengers to still print their boarding passes and download the myRyanair app before switching to digital cards.
