Less than a month after its premiere, Brazilian production Tremembe, available on Prime Video, became one of the biggest hits of 2025. The captivating plot surrounding a place known as “Celebrity Prison” captured the hearts of the public, with calls for a second season sweeping social media.
Despite the pressure, Ulises Campbell, the series’ writer and author of the book that inspired it, said: big city Although the production for the second year has not yet been confirmed, he revealed what he thinks about the possibility of continuing the story.
“We don’t know if there will be a season 2 because nothing has been confirmed, but we do have the material to make a season 2, especially since all the characters are still alive and living outside the prison,” he said.
Ulisses said the team kept the ending public because they didn’t know if the series would produce a second season, but also to keep the discussion about the story and characters alive.
“It’s difficult to end a story where the characters are living in real life. For example, if the character is already dead, it would be easy to end it, but this story has no end.”

What if there was a second season?
Ulisses speculated about the possibility of a sequel, explaining that there is still a lot of material to be gleaned from the research he did to write the books that inspired the series, Elise Matsunaga: A Mulher que Esquartejou o Marido and Suzane: Assassina e Manipuladora from Matrix. In addition to these, the author also explores other stories about Tremembé prisoners in his work Tremembé: O Presídio dos Famosos, which will potentially expand the world in its second year.
“Actually, this is my opinion. It wasn’t decided by the channel or the management, so for example, as a viewer, I realized that there were a lot of important characters in there and people noticed that.”
Among the names that may be further explored in the new episodes, Ulises mentions Pimenta Neves, Gil Lugay and Lindenberg Alves, who appear sparingly in one of the chapters of the work.
The author acknowledges that the public has high expectations for the series and the story of these characters, but emphasizes that for now the team’s focus remains on promoting the first season.
