This faction was founded in 1979 in the Candido Mendez prison on Ilha Grande, based on the coexistence of political and civilian prisoners. The professor acted as a kind of representative for the prisoners, writing petitions and letters. In this book, in addition to documenting the relationship between crime and society, he tells the story of how he survived the country’s most legendary prison. The professor passed away in 2019 at the age of 76 due to a heart attack.
