The Argentine Academy of Advertising has announced the professionals who will be honored this year for their invaluable contributions to the field and their outstanding careers: Jorge Martínez Moschini, Martín Mercado, Luis Puenzo and Dario Straschnoi. Additionally, a memorial award will be presented to Silvia Mazza, a key figure in the recent history of advertising communications in this country.
The event will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 5:30 pm in the Jorge Luis Borges Room of the National Library and will be moderated by historical advertising popularizer Ricardo Martínez Puente. The ceremony will be open to the public and will include companies including Anita & Vega, Filmsuez, Ignis, Midios, Ogilvy, Rapp, Telecom and Unilever.
“It was an honor to serve on such an emblematic jury as the Advertising Academy. It was an amazing experience. Everything flowed, we listened to each other and brought out the best winners. Everything was extravagant. Now let’s wait for the ceremony,” said Anita Rios, president of the Argentine Creative Circle and honorary jury president responsible for defining the honor.

Likewise, Miguel D’Axta, Vice President of the Academy, emphasized the ethos that guides the Academy:We want to function like academies in other fields, to reflect, conduct scholarly research, and generate knowledge about our work. That’s the main purpose. At the same time, we aim to keep alive for new generations the legacy of those who added value to advertising. Conferences, webinars, and scholarly honors are part of that path. ”
The Argentine Advertising Academy was born just over four years ago, driven by 20 colleagues who decided to create a space inspired by similar institutions in other countries. We currently have over 100 members and Argentina’s most complete library of advertising books available on our website.
The organization aims to bring together experts from different fields of advertising communication to reflect, discuss and develop joint actions to increase the prestige of the profession, strengthen the field and make visible its relevance as an economic and cultural factor.
The founding members include some of the biggest names in the field, such as Fabian Albinati, Ricardo Colombo, Miguel D’Axta, Omar Di Nardo, Alejandro Di Paola, Gianni Gasparini, Marcos Golfari, Luis O. Ibarra García, Raúl López Rossi, Marite Mabragaña, Fabian Maison, Lily Ann Martin and Mariano Augliaro.
