Dr. Taisa Hoffman, the wife of the former attorney general of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), has called for her to be released from prison under the closed regime and transferred to home health care. In their habeas corpus petition to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the lawyers cited the fact that the doctor was breastfeeding her one-year-old son and needed to be near the child.
Through her consulting firm, she is accused of brokering bribe payments from lobbyists and businessmen to her husband, Virgilio de Oliveira Filho. In return, he would have acted to benefit the association from the outrageous unfair discounts given to retirees by INSS.

The couple also received a payment of R$7.5 million from lobbyist Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes, known as Careca of INSS. Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes had been granted powers of attorney by several organizations on behalf of INSS.
A lobbyist sold Taissa a Porsche Taycan worth more than 500,000 reais.
