Among the topics being discussed are so-called “green protectionism,” Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) accountability, biennial transparency reporting (RBT), and climate finance, according to a statement from the conference leadership.

In addition to the extraordinary plenary session, Brazil will also present its proposal for the “Bacbelen” roadmap, which outlines possible paths to achieving the target of US$1.3 trillion in annual climate finance for developing countries from 2035.

Brazilian government officials said yesterday (14th) that the Republic’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is considering returning to Belem next week to intervene in negotiations and lift blocks on the most sensitive issues, particularly those related to global warming policy funding. .
