Call for investigation into Clinton and businessman

Donald Trump and Melania (before becoming his wife), Epstein and Maxwell, 2000 / Web

Donald Trump reignited the fuse in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and, true to his style, did it loudly. The US president has called on the attorney general and FBI to investigate alleged ties to financiers convicted of abuse and sex trafficking, including Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, billionaire Reid Hoffman and even banking giants JPMorgan and Chase.

The attack came after more than 23,000 emails from Epstein’s inner circle came to light, many of which directly or indirectly referred to the most powerful political and business figures on the planet. And in some of those messages, Epstein himself referenced Trump, which accelerated the reaction from the tycoon-turned-president.

It broke out at Truth Social.

“The records show that these men spent most of their lives on Mr. Epstein’s island,” Trump began, referring to the famous Caribbean enclave where the financier took celebrities, officials, and businessmen, along with women, many of them minors.

The president was furious over an email in which Epstein said his victim “spent hours with me at my house,” which put Trump in the middle of a firestorm, but the White House quickly moved to put out the fire, defending Epstein’s press secretary, Caroline Leavitt, saying, “These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.”

Although President Trump has insisted he had “nothing to do with it,” the release of the emails shocked Washington. Notably, Mr. Epstein never formally accused Mr. Trump of any crime, even though he had gaffefully claimed that Mr. Trump “knew about the girls” before his death.

The leaked messages also show Mr. Epstein saying that Mr. Clinton was “never” on his island, contradicting one of the president’s favorite claims.

President’s counterattack

Far from remaining silent, President Trump responded with a new conspiracy theory against Democrats, saying, “Democrats are using the Epstein hoax to cover up their mess. That’s why I asked them to investigate Clinton, Summers, Hoffman, JPMorgan, Chase and many others.” And he concluded with a tone of typical political reality. “This is another Russia, Russia, Russia! Stay tuned!”

tensions in parliament

According to US media, the White House launched a last-minute pressure campaign to block a bipartisan attempt to release the entire Epstein file. Most talked about fact: There was an unusual meeting in the Situation Room where Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel tried to persuade Republican lawmakers to back down.

In a presidential environment, they acknowledge that the issue is uncomfortable. Not because of the new emails, but because President Trump promised to declassify everything related to Epstein when he was a candidate. Once in power, he released only partial information. His MAGA base hasn’t forgotten this.

VIP list and dark ending

Over the years, Epstein brought celebrities, businessmen, and government officials into his orbit. After his arrest in 2019, he was charged with running a sex trafficking ring involving women and teenagers. He died by suicide in prison, and rumors of his suicide are still widespread. His partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving a 20-year sentence but continues to deny the charges.

Epstein drama returns to center stage as new revelations, old tensions and accusations are exchanged between Trump and Clinton. Trump has tried to distance himself, but with each new document he is drawn back into the storm.
