Last Wednesday (12/11), a large fish was found dead with its beak stuck in a tire. This scene was filmed on the beach in Balneario Picaras, Santa Catarina.
Mauricio Gualterra, a photographer and biologist, discovered the fish and contacted the Unibari Maritime Museum, who went to the site and removed the carcass. The animal was a blue marlin, and the carcass was 3.3 meters long and weighed 400 kilograms. Check out the image:

Gualterra shared videos and images from the scene on social media and gave an emotional report. “It’s heartbreaking to see the impact we humans are having on nature. Our waste is killing unnecessary lives due to our lack of care,” he wrote.
Biologists informed that the animal’s carcass will be displayed at the Universal Museum in an exhibit on the effects of marine pollution. “May this sad scene serve as a warning and environmental education tool. Nature needs help and we all have a responsibility. Let’s raise awareness and take better care of our planet,” he said. Watch the video:

The blue marlin is the world’s largest marlin and migrates along the entire coast of Brazil. This animal can reach a length of 4.5 meters and a weight of 900 kg. One of its main characteristics is its high speed at sea. This may explain how this animal was able to pierce the rubber of a tire with its beak.
However, it is classified as “critically endangered” on the list of endangered animals. This is primarily because they are a coveted target for sport hunters looking for the challenge of catching extremely fast animals.
