The former leader, who was essential to winning the 2008 Copa do Brasil, passed away this Friday (14th) due to cancer.
Milton Vivar, one of the great coaches in the history of sports, passed away this Friday (14th) from pancreatic cancer at the age of 74. The civil engineer and businessman, who served three terms as president of the city of León, was the company’s executive director during the company’s 2008 Copa do Brasil victory. He also served as Director of Football in 2006, winning a state championship and qualifying for Series A.
2021 was the last time Milton Vivar held the position of Sport president. Elected club president for the 2019/20 season, he achieved an overwhelming victory in the polls with over 88%, securing victory at Pernambucano and qualification for Series A. He was thus re-elected for the 2021/22 season in the closest election in Leon’s history. However, he resigned immediately after the election, citing poor health.
Milton Vivard’s most notable assignment took place during the 2007/08 biennium. After all, Sport won the Pernambuco Championship twice, in addition to the Copa do Brasil. However, despite his success, he distanced himself from football politics, only returning in 2013 when he took up the position of vice president of football. At the time, he formed a team with his brother Luciano Vibal, who was in his sixth year as club president.
Ten years later, Milton Bivard returned to run for office. However, due to his fragile health, he resigned in November 2020, months before being re-elected for a third term. Managers claimed that in addition to health issues, they had to deal with physical and mental fatigue, as well as personal, health, and business issues.
