The Federal District Military Police (PMDF) arrested a 46-year-old man who fired a gun inside his apartment on QR 118 in Samanbaia (DF) this Saturday morning (11/15).
According to PMDF, the incident began around 6:20 a.m. when residents heard gunshots and alerted the corporation. Officers from the 11th Battalion arrived at the scene and found the man locked in a bathroom, claiming he was mentally unstable, armed and fearful of other people on the premises.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the Operations Manager mobilized the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) for crisis management. The team isolated the area and held negotiations for several hours, focusing on saving lives.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., the man was taken into custody without resisting or injuring anyone. Police seized a handgun and live ammunition in the apartment. He was treated by the fire department and taken to Taguatinga Regional Hospital before being taken to Police Station 32 where he was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and firing a firearm.
