U.S. President Donald Trump left Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene in the chamber. She was one of the president’s great legislative supporters in his first term and a pillar of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) ideological movement at its height, but was removed from the chamber by Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after the lawmaker insisted on the full release of documents relating to the North American president’s ties to the prostitution network led by the late businessman Jeffrey Epstein.
In a message posted on his platform Truth Social, President Trump described Greene as a “lunatic” and “lunatic” who won’t stop “complaining, complaining, complaining.” President Trump did not mention Epstein as the reason for the severance, but instead referred to a survey he sent to the Georgia House of Representatives that reflected Greene’s desire to lose badly in the polls for governor or U.S. Senate.
Greene’s voting intent was 12 percent, and Trump said, “She hasn’t had the slightest chance, and she’s not going to be supported, unless of course she has my support,” Trump said, adding that “she seems upset” because the president isn’t returning her calls. “I have to oversee normal life with 219 members of Congress, 53 senators, 24 cabinet members, people from almost 200 countries. I can’t listen to what a madman has to say every day,” the president said.
Trump ended by accusing Greene of betraying Republican principles and moving to the “radical left,” before declaring that he believed the state’s “great conservative people” were “considering challenging her in the primary” because they were “tired of her histrionics, too.”
Hours later, Trump redoubled his attack on “Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown,” a play on her last name because “when green grass starts to rot, it turns brown,” Trump assured Trump, who would have his “full and unwavering” support no matter who decides to run against her at the polls.
“She’s done becoming a regular RINO,” the president said, referring to one of his movement’s classic expressions of “Republicans in name only,” in which Trump nominates members of the party who do not declare allegiance to him.
Greene points to Epstein files as reason for discussion
“And of course, ahead of next week’s vote on releasing the files, he is lashing out at me to set an example and scare all other Republicans,” he said on his social network account.
Marjorie Taylor Greene added, “It is truly astonishing that they have gone to such extremes to stop the disclosure of Mr. Epstein’s files,” and called on the president to “fight with the same tenacity to help the forgotten men and women of America who are tired of war and foreign causes,” in a veiled reference to Israel.
“I have dedicated too much time and too much money to supporting Trump, but I do not worship him or serve him. I worship God, Jesus is my Savior, and I serve my district and the American people. I am the same person I always have been, and I will continue to pray that this administration succeeds, because the American people absolutely deserve what they voted for,” the congressman concluded.
