‘I know how corrupt Donald is’: Key to more than 20,000 Epstein papers released by Republicans | International

The first was three emails released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee. Plus, more than 20,000 unfiltered documents released by the committee’s Republican rivals. Billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was once again at the center of Washington news this Wednesday, with new windows opening into his dark world through documents that Congress has been obtaining from his family since August.

1 of 3 people email The day began with an accomplice in a sex-trafficking network targeting hundreds of underage victims of financiers against her successful friend, Ghislaine Maxwell, for whom she is serving 20 years in prison. The remaining two were addressed to journalist Michael Wolff.

In Maxwell’s case, Epstein mentioned the victim, whose name was blacked out in 2011, saying, “She spent several hours with President (Donald) Trump at my house.” He also referred to the fact that the real estate mogul at the time “never mentioned (didn’t)” meet with the victim, saying, “I want you to understand that the dog that hasn’t barked yet is Trump.”

The White House later claimed that the person who committed suicide this year was Virginia Giuffre, who survived being hit by a bus in Australia, where she lived. In the past, she has said that she has never seen President Trump take part in the crimes of his attackers.

One of the email Wolf in 2019, the investor died in a high-security cell while awaiting trial that year, suggesting the current US president was aware of his actions. “Of course he knew about the girls because he told Ghislaine to stop.” The third exchange took place in 2015, during the real estate mogul and reality TV star’s first campaign for the White House. In it, Epstein suggests journalists use what they know about candidates to blackmail them.

Mr. Trump and his allies accused Democrats of cherry-picking certain emails with the intention of harming the president. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican, responded to his rivals’ stance by deciding last week to release all the documents he obtained, linking them in a tweet. This link leads to an unrealistic repository of documentation that is frankly difficult to track down.

Thanks to the selective work of the American media, hours of that information were extracted and brought to fruition.

Relationship of trust with President Obama’s advisors

These more than 20,000 documents contain constant references to President Trump, but there are no email exchanges between the two. At one point, Epstein called the then-president “on the verge of insanity.” In another article, he said he “felt like a goat” when he heard the news that citizens of seven Muslim countries would be banned from entering the United States at the beginning of his first term as president.

Perhaps the most fascinating email was one the financier sent in 2018 to Kathryn Lemmler, a White House adviser under President Barack Obama, who wrote, “I know how corrupt the Donald is,” about the potential for a scandal involving President Trump to come to light after former confidant Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to federal crimes related to financing Hillary’s presidential campaign. Mr. Clinton lost. As part of a cooperation agreement with prosecutors, Cohen implicated Trump in a 2016 bribery scheme in which he paid porn actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair, which Trump denies. In 2023, the then-Republican candidate was ultimately sentenced on 34 charges in the case.

This voluminous document also provides new data on relationships with characters close to the financier, old acquaintances from his web of abuse and influence, and less familiar characters from that world, such as Steve Bannon, the national populist ideologue who advised Epstein to disembark in Europe, and Peter Thiel, a close ally of PayPal founder and vice president J.D. Vance. He receives an invitation to a billionaire pedophile’s private island, the place where he has committed dozens, perhaps hundreds, of crimes. Thiel declared: political Someone who never accepted the offer.

Epstein closely follows President Trump (along with Wolf)

Wolff apparently wrote a letter to the billionaire pedophile shortly before Trump’s surprise victory in the 2016 election, threatening to harm him in the final stages of the campaign. “This week you have an opportunity to talk about Mr. Trump in a way that will garner a lot of sympathy and lead to his downfall. Are you interested?” the journalist says to him. This document is not the only document in which both sides fantasize about bringing down the then-candidate with potentially invasive information that remains untraceable in the new document.

These revelations don’t reflect too well on journalists who sometimes appear to be Epstein’s image advisors. Wolff, the author of several books about Trump (and another about the financier), published a video on Instagram this Wednesday in which he said, “I’ve been trying to tell this story for a long time.[Epstein and the President of the United States]have maintained a close relationship for more than a decade. Maybe we’re getting closer to irrefutable evidence.”

The emails also contain other evidence that Mr. Epstein was keeping a close eye on his old friend, including an associate passing information on President Trump’s finances and another email in which Mr. Epstein expressed interest in Alex Acosta’s confirmation process to become secretary of labor.

When Mr. Acosta was a federal prosecutor in South Florida, he agreed to end Mr. Epstein’s first trial with a leniency deal in which the defendant, who spent only 13 months in prison, would plead guilty to two state crimes. Acosta also granted immunity from federal prosecution for sex trafficking of minors because he believed prosecutors were unlikely to prevail in a hypothetical case, the lawsuit said. That was what prevented him from becoming a member of Trump’s cabinet.

Advice about women to Larry Summers

If the release of the documents served any purpose, it would prove Epstein’s closeness to Lawrence Summers, a prominent economist who worked in the Bill Clinton and Barack Obama administrations and later served as president of Harvard University. Although it was already known that she had a relationship with the financier (a relationship she later publicly regretted), it was not known that she continued to have such regular contact from 2017 to 2019, years after Epstein’s first (soft) conviction on prostitution-related charges, and years after Epstein’s conviction on prostitution-related charges. miami herald A series of investigative reports revived the case against him. Publication of the paper led to Epstein’s second indictment, with federal prosecutors in New York charging him with sex trafficking in 2019 for events that took place in Miami and New York between 2002 and 2005 during the height of the Me Too movement.

In these exchanges, there is a lot of talk about Summers’ relationship with a London resident whom Epstein advises. They are also about Trump. In a 2017 email, the economist said he traveled to Saudi Arabia and came away with the impression that officials there thought “The Donald has become an increasingly dangerous clown on foreign policy.” Other messages include planned donations from Epstein to projects related to Harvard University and the economist’s wife, Elisa F. New.

It is impossible to conclude from the hundreds of emails exchanged between the two that Summers knew anything about Epstein’s crimes.

Prince Andrew: “Tell me it has nothing to do with me.”

Prince Andrew’s relationships with Maxwell and Epstein, as well as Giuffre’s accusations, led to a gradual fall from grace, and his brother Charles III decided last October to remove him from public life and duties as a member of the royal family.

Among them was a 2011 message in which the Duke of York responded to an email that Maxwell had forwarded through Epstein. This is because the British newspaper “Mail on Sunday” demanded answers from financial companies about sexual abuse accusations that a reporter from the newspaper was about to publish. Prince Andrew replied: “Hello! What the hell is this? I don’t know anything about this! Please tell me. This has nothing to do with me. I can’t take it anymore.”

March 6, 2011 sunday mail They published an article with photos of Prince Andrew and Giffle, a victim who recently committed suicide. The Duke of York insists he committed no crime. In Giuffre’s recently published posthumous memoir, she describes three occasions in which she was forced to become a sexual slave to a prince, whom she defines as a man who was “well aware of his privilege” and who was convinced that he had a “birthright” to have an affair with her.
