MC Ryan SP becomes defendant in lawsuit seeking more than 200,000 reais for each canceled program

Fabia Oliveira’s column revealed that MC Ryan SP is involved in a new controversy. The funk singer was accused of not performing a show scheduled for June in Macae, Rio de Janeiro.

Ryan SP was put on trial by Iván López Portugal Jr. in October of this year. The businessman said he had contracted GR6 Eventos, also a defendant in the lawsuit, for the presentation. The performance fee for the musicians was set at R$ 70,000, in addition to which the organization and infrastructure of the event alone cost approximately R$ 72,000.

In the process, the contractor accused the artist of failing to show up for the new dates and giving production “short notice.” According to the author, this action created new financial losses, exacerbated public dissatisfaction and damaged his reputation as an event promoter.

Ivan Lopez assured in his lawsuit that MC Ryan SP and GR6 Events did not reimburse him for shows that were not performed, nor did he refund any fees he paid.

Request to the judiciary

The businessman is asking the court for a preventive injunction to prevent the amount of R$141,930 from the defendant’s account. This measure will be essential to guarantee compensation for proven damages.

In addition to seeking money related to the event’s participation and expenses, Ivan López is also seeking emotional damages from the host and the company. The total value of the case exceeded R$260,000.
