Approximately two tons of marijuana were seized from a large quantity of pasta on Thursday night (November 13) in the city of Jares, in the São Jose do Rio Preto region of inland São Paulo.
The driver was caught red-handed during a joint operation by the Military Road Police and the Federal Road Police.
The seizure occurred during a traffic inspection by Lodovia Euclides da Cunha’s Opera Divisa Integrada.

The team approached the box truck and during an inspection discovered 95 bales of drugs, totaling 1.9 tonnes, hidden inside the luggage among packs of pasta.
According to the information, the man was scheduled to pick up the luggage in Nova Alvorada do Sul (MS) and take it to Belo Horizonte (MG), where he would receive it for transport. He has a criminal history of domestic violence.
The car and drugs were seized and the suspects were taken to Jail’s Federal Police Station, where they were arraigned before a judge.
