As soon as Minister Barroso announced his early retirement, President Lula’s aides announced efforts to nominate him for the vacant STF position, and I posted on my antisocial network timeline:
The litany of identity began. It is enough that there are vacancies in the court, and regular vacancies came with their vacancies
— “You have to be a woman, you have to be black, etc.” It’s not the color, it’s not the gender. It’s a practice. Lula knows. The STF needs to be reconstituted with progressives who are not necessarily Afro-Brazilian or gender-sensitive. And today, from among the names listed, I would like to choose Mr. Jorge Mesias, who has always been on the side of the workers. It’s about fighting! ”
Meanwhile, “arguments” appeared, attempts to restrain Lula, “benevolent” pressure (sic!), “selfless” points without prejudice, without commitment, without consequences, etc.
And, of course, the points made by someone who had always clearly represented “the other side” became instantly progressive in the face of the possibility of promotion to the position I mentioned. Isn’t it beautiful?!
And don’t forget to mention friendly fire like flowers, soi etc.
At the mere mention of them, Eduardo Saplicy fiercely defends how gender-specific the problem is.
You claimed it on your timeline. I didn’t even have the gall to mention some very unfortunate choices, such as the gender of the representative who mocked and made, to put it kindly, offensive comments about Lula’s beloved grandson, the deceased infant Arthur.
These kinds of comments even caused defections in same-sex groups on WhatsApp, making it difficult to understand what was being said. Please skip this part and don’t throw up.
I said this about the post of this noble Member of Parliament, whose beautiful career I admire.
Support Viomundo
“With all due respect, dear Congressman, this is not (just) a question of gender, ethnicity, or national origin. It is about having someone who has a say in determining the fate of our — and — most seriously, those who come to us, over the next 30-plus years. There is no need to mention how wrong the decisions were under those standards. But in the name of the country, please, without reductionist standards.”
We hope that Lula is wise and does not allow this choice to be contaminated by false standards.
And what a choice! Act quickly and wisely.
Please remember, Chosen One, that this is very important. It will outlive many of us. And the country itself must survive.
Take your pick, Lula. Act wisely and quickly.
