Civilian police indict 12 people over execution of former valedictorian Louis Ferraz

The São Paulo Civil Police this Thursday (November 13) concluded its first investigation into the execution of former valedictorian Rui Ferraz Fontes, who was killed in an ambush on September 15 in Praia Grande on the São Paulo coast. Seven suspects were charged with murder and criminal organization, and five with criminal organization. Ten people were arrested and two are still at large.

The investigation revealed that the people involved in the crime were divided into two groups. The first was directly involved in the murder of a former police officer, and the second supported the act by transporting weapons and assisting in his escape.

Execution of secretary and former deputy

Surveillance camera footage showed the moment the suspects began the ambush. At 6:02 p.m., the perpetrators parked their car on the street near Praia Grande City Hall, where the victim worked as the administrative secretary. Other images show the moment a police officer was shot dead after his car crashed into a bus.

Paulo Enrique Caetano Sales, aka PH: He was one of the gunmen and carried out what is called a “restraint” to prevent others from getting close to him. He arrived at the crime scene in a black Hilux. He was arrested on October 24th.
Luis Antonio Rodríguez de Miranda, aka Gao: He was driving the Hilux that left PH at the crime scene. he is on the run.
Humberto Alberto Gomez: He was the shooter who shot Louis the most, firing his rifle 20 times. After committing the crime, he fled to Paraná state, where he died on September 30 in a confrontation with civilian police.
Rafael Marcel Díaz Simões, known as Jaguar: Named as one of the gunmen and identified as a member of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), he turned himself in to police in São Vicente on the São Paulo coast on September 20.
Marcos Augusto Rodríguez Cardoso, aka Fiel: When the victim came out of the city hall building, he followed former police chief and then-administrator Praia Grande. Feal was driving a white Logan and signaled the gunman to take action. He was arrested on November 3rd.
Felipe Avelino da Silva, known as Mascherano: He was involved in the escape and left the keys in a silver Renegade, preventing the group from using it to flee. He was arrested on October 6th.
Flavio Enrique Ferreira de Sousa: Fingerprints left inside the Renegade revealed that he was also involved in the escape. he is on the run.
William Silva Marquez: He is the owner of a house in Praia Grande near the site of the ambush, which the criminals used as an office. Before renting a property, be sure to understand the purpose for which it will be used. He was arrested on September 21st.
Cristiano Alves da Silva, aka Chris Brown: Owner of a house in Mongagua that is also used as a distribution center by the group. Before renting a property, be sure to understand the purpose for which it will be used. He was arrested on October 17th.
Dahesley Oliveira Pires: The girlfriend of one of the gunmen was arrested on September 18, the day after the execution, for searching a Praia Grande home for one of the rifles used in the crime.
Jose Nild da Silva: He was one of the gunmen and was recorded on surveillance cameras arriving at Itanyem’s home armed. At the time, he was covering Humberto Alberto Gómez, who was hiding in the speech venue. He was arrested on October 21st.
Luis Enrique Santos Batista, aka Fofán: He helped Jaguar escape from Baixada Santista and reach the São Paulo metropolitan area shortly after the crime. He was arrested on September 19th.
Danilo Pereira Pena, known as a mathematician: Fofan was appointed to transport the jaguar from the coast to the capital area. He was arrested on October 16th.
