Luisa Sonza appeared in social media This Friday (November 14th) after seeing her name being compared to Anitta’s on the international stage.
The singer responded to comments that tried to place the two on opposite sides, criticizing any attempts to diminish the Rio native’s trajectory.
what happened
The debate began after excerpts of an interview Luisa gave to Latino media were published. In the video, she comments that funk has naturally spread to other countries due to globalization.
Anitta’s fans objected to the speech, releasing a montage of statements from foreign artists who credited Anitta with bringing rhythm to other countries.
What Luisa Sonza said
Seeing the effect, Luisa decided to intervene and rejected any attempts at confrontation between the two.
“Ridiculous rivalry. I talked about it all the time in this series of interviews. Among many other things, I told them in the sense that it’s natural for something this good to go viral, in the sense that if you were sane you’d put it on here. Sorry, but it’s disgusting and depressing for rival artists, even female artists,” he wrote.
The two long-time friends have always shown public support for each other, and Luisa stressed that she does not tolerate artificial comparisons that pit women in the same field against each other.
