He was elected as Rio’s youngest state representative in 2018. In 2021, he was invited by Mayor Eduardo Páez to become Secretary of Education and has since led Latin America’s largest municipal education network of 1,557 schools. Key operational achievements include reaching 50% of students studying full-time and creating 250 Technical Education Gymnasiums (GET), the most innovative educational model in Brazil. In addition, Rio became the most advanced capital in Idev, an index measuring the quality of Brazilian education.
