Elias David Piccirillo, a businessman charged with drug and weapons conspiracy with intent to harm creditors, was released from Ezeiza prison this Friday and began serving his sentence under house arrest. The action was granted by Federal Correctional Court No. 11, presided over by Judge Sebastian Norberto Casanello, after the defendants presented real estate worth P500 million as effective security for accessing the benefits.

The ex-husband of TV presenter and model Jessica Cirio offered the property for that amount, and the court deemed the financial requirements met. “This will require the issuance of a corresponding letter in order to proceed with the foreclosure record in response to the Crown bond set.”

The embargo was accepted on November 7, allowing his removal order from the prison to move forward.

Authoritarians don’t like this

The practice of professional and critical journalism is a fundamental pillar of democracy. That is why it bothers those who believe that they are the owners of the truth.

The judicial resolution orders federal prisons to “urgently” notify inmates and transfer them on the same day even if electronic anklets are not placed. “It must be carried out without exception,” said the letter to Federal Prison Facility 1, where he is being held.

Piccirillo was taken to an address in Serrano, Banfield, and was held under electronic monitoring, the spokesperson said. Records filed in court showed that the defendant’s brother, Matias Piccirillo, was the surety.

reason. Judge Casanero ruled that the defendant’s health warranted house arrest. A medical report included in the file showed that Piccirillo suffered from “adjustment disorder with depressed and anxious mood” as a result of his confinement. Experts who evaluated him noted an “attitude of submission and defeat” with “spontaneous crying” and “thoughts dominated by a sense of hopelessness and helplessness.”

In this regard, the judgment determined that there was no procedural risk as there was “no risk of flight or obstruction of the investigation.” For this reason, he considered that alternative measures would “meet the objectives of the process and prevent the worsening of the psychological pathology.”

case. Piccirillo is charged with forcible kidnapping, aggravated transportation of drugs, aggravated concealment and unlawful possession of a weapon. The case involved an operation against Francisco Hauck, a businessman to whom he owed money and who was trying to convict him with drugs and firearms. This charge left him in preventive detention in Ezeiza.

After several days of negotiations, it was decided that the benefits would be granted. His lawyers had been arguing for a change in detention since the previous Monday and were responsible for providing all documents requested by the court. The properties offered as security included land in La Pampa and another property in the interior of the country, both of which were recognized by the court as significantly in excess of the amount required for the security deposit.

transfer. While the final formalities were being carried out, the American television program “A La Afternoon” broadcast live that Piccirillo had been released from prison and was moving into a new home. In the cycle, they detailed that the three-room apartment in which this measure was implemented belonged to his family, a fact that attracted the attention of the panellists due to the modest origins of the defendant’s environment.

After the court’s ruling, Piccirillo must remain on the premises, wear an electronic anklet, and comply with all obligations imposed by Judge Casanello. The spokesperson confirmed that investigations into his crimes will continue as long as he remains in custody in this manner.
