Alicante Regional Council promotes GeoGIS implementation to improve municipal management and services to residents

This computer solution is already in place in some municipalities in Alicante and is a tool that allows councils to view and analyze information for all municipalities. Spatial and geographic data They exist in municipalities with the aim of improving territorial management, decision-making and service delivery.

The second vice president is Marina SaezHe, who is also vice-chairman of Geonet’s board of directors, stressed that the new platform will enable city councils to “improve decision-making, urban planning and service delivery, and achieve more agile and efficient management of local resources, while promoting transparency and citizen participation.”

The GeoGIS platform is managed by Geonet, a public company that acts as the Alicante Regional Council’s own media and technology service, specializing in cartographic solutions for local government and facilitating increased efficiency and agility when implementing spatial data infrastructure.

The system provides access to territorial information in a centralized way by integrating multiple georeferenced data such as street maps, cadastral records, networks, heritage, environment, and urban planning into one platform and making it accessible from any device with an internet connection.

This service will be clarified through a specific order that Geonet will receive from the State Legislature thanks to this framework agreement, unanimously approved at the last State Plenary Session, guaranteeing technical support, consulting and assistance to local governments.
