Residents of the town of Mondomo, in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, in the province of Cauca, are facing an alarming situation after two explosions that have made it clear that there is no guarantee or security in the area, a fact known since the early hours of November 15, 2025.
As an immediate measure, communities are advised to shelter in place and follow First Nations Guard guidelines to protect their integrity in the face of escalating violence. The Ancestral Authority underlined the urgency of protecting the population and re-establishing minimum security conditions in the territory and stressed the need for coordinated and effective action by responsible institutions.

Faced with this scenario, the Ancestral Authority urgently requested the intervention of the national government, national and international human rights and protection organizations, with the aim of responding to the serious humanitarian crisis that continues to affect Cauca families.
