The second day of the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, was marked by the Brazilian women’s pair maintaining 100% success and the men’s pair scoring an impressive victory.
On the women’s side, Carol/Rebecca, Duda/Anna Patricia and Tamera/Vic won the competition for the second time and are already set to move on to the next stage. This Saturday, the Vitoria/Hege duo will make the difficult decision to try to follow the same path when they take on American Nuss/Brasher.
On the men’s side, Andre and Renato put in a great performance against reigning Olympic champions Arman/Helwig (Sweden), winning 2-0 and maintaining their chances of qualifying. It is worth remembering that the Brazilian partnership was formed after the World Cup following the injury of Pedro, who was playing alongside Renato.
In the same group, George/Samon lost to the hosts, Barnett/Hodges, 2-1, and the four groups were tied with one win and one loss. The winner of the third and final round will advance to the stage.
