The man identified as Antonio Bezerra de Sousa Jr., 33, who kidnapped the 18-year-old nursing student, had other plans. The plan was to kill her aunt, with whom he had a relationship for a time.
The crime occurred this Thursday (11/13) in Jaguaribe (CE). Fernanda Silva Melo, a young woman who was kidnapped, survived hours of terror.

After an intense search lasting almost 24 hours, the kidnappers surrendered on Friday afternoon (November 14) during a joint operation by civilian police, military police and Ciopaer.
The young woman was rescued alive and handed over to her family without major injuries. As he fled, Antonio engaged in a gunfight with police and hid in the woods until he was surrounded.

Kidnapping details:
- Antonio armed himself and broke into a beauty clinic with the intention of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s sister.
- Since his ex-partner was missing, he kidnapped Fernanda.
- The young woman was taken to a place in the countryside where the vegetation was thick.
- During the kidnapping, the perpetrator demanded that his ex-partner release his niece, which amounted to blackmail.
He already had a criminal history, including intentional homicide. Antonio was arrested and charged with extortion by kidnapping.
Civilian police did not provide details of the negotiations that led to the surrender, but confirmed that the victims were safe.
