Mr. Julio Arac, Mayor of La Plata, led the delivery of school furniture to Vocational School No. 9, Vocational School No. 6 “Albert Tomas” and Vocational School No. 532 “Alfonsina Storni” within the framework of the State Plan for the Provision of School Equipment promoted by the State Directorate of Culture and Education (DGCyE).
“This equipment is part of the efforts we have made in collaboration with the province to improve schools and provide a better learning environment for all boys and girls,” said Arak, who was accompanied by Education Secretary Paula Lambertini and the region’s Permanent Secretary Yamila Olariaga.
In total, this initiative has made it possible to provide institutions with new students and chairs that will improve learning conditions for approximately 2,600 students at the technical and special education level.
The equipment is part of production at the State School Furniture Factory at 520th Street and 29th Street, which was restored and reopened in 2020 and currently employs 150 people.
With these deliveries, the city and state will continue to strengthen La Plata’s educational network and update the furnishings of facilities that play an important role in technical and professional training and student intake.
