In a poll of professional journalists, the model leads the votes among luxury electric cars and passenger cars with an internal combustion engine.
The new Volvo EX90 and Audi A5 have won the Trend Car 2025 Terra Ghia do Caro Awards in the category dedicated to premium 100% electric models and combustion passenger cars. The Volvo EX90 was named the Best Premium Electric Vehicle of 2025/2026, and the Audi A5 was named the Best Passenger Car for Hatchback and Sedan combined.
Before the Volvo EX90, the division winner was the Blazer EV
The Volvo EX90 therefore takes over the title previously given to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, chosen for the 2024/2025 edition. Due to a calendar adjustment for the Trend Car Awards, the Blazer EV (2025/2026) and EX90 (2024/2025) were considered 2025 winners. Previously, this award was mentioned in later years. The Volvo EX90 received 33.3% of the nominations, or a total of 8 votes. This was followed by the Zeekr 7X with 25% (6 votes) and the Audi SQ6 e-tron/SQ6 e-tron Sportback with 20.8% (5 votes). There were 24 valid votes, with 2 abstentions.

Audi A5 wins by overwhelming vote margin over BMW 2 Series GC
In the passenger vehicle (ICE) category, the Audi A5 received 64% of nominations and a total of 16 votes. A large number of votes were received for other competitors, especially the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which is also a premium car. The Chevrolet Onyx, defending the honor of the popular model, received 12% of the votes. There were a total of 25 valid votes for this issue, with 1 abstention.
