CBF president Samir Zaud revealed in an interview this Saturday (15th) that the Brazilian national team will make its final appearance in Brazil before continuing its journey towards the World Cup.
The aim, according to Saud, is to bring coach Carlo Ancelotti’s side closer to the fans and strengthen the atmosphere of enthusiasm around the team.
— The idea is to hold the team’s final meeting in Brazil. We need to get all the fans back to cheering on hopscotch. Giving our all for the World Cup is an important move. –The president told SportTV.
The coach also discussed preparing the calendar for the next FIFA date, scheduled for 2026. According to him, high-profile teams such as Croatia, France and Norway are among the options being analyzed.
Zaud stressed that the definition of opponents will only take place after the end of the European season, which will allow a clearer assessment of which teams will qualify. He emphasized that negotiations are by no means over at this point.
The CBF intends to play teams with different characteristics, following the technical committee’s plan to expose the Brazilian team to different styles of play throughout the cycle leading up to the World Cup.
For example, according to FIFA data for October, before playing against African teams, Brazil played against South Korea and Japan as the Asian soccer representative.
