Uberlandia’s Education Department has fired an education analyst for 30 days after sending sexually suggestive messages to underage students.
The disciplinary action was published in the city’s official gazette this Friday (14th) and is the result of an administrative disciplinary process initiated in response to the student’s complaint.

According to the handling committee, the staff member took advantage of his position of authority to establish inappropriate communications with students, and his conduct is considered incompatible with public service.
Although the incident did not involve physical contact, the server’s simple effort was classified as an abuse of professional position.
The committee’s report said the education analyst “used the natural advantage his position afforded to students to transmit sexual content, causing embarrassment and undermining the trust necessary in a school environment.”
In his testimony, Thurber admitted he sent the messages, claimed he sent them in a “childish moment” and admitted he acted unprofessionally.
However, this justification was not accepted by the Commission, which concluded that the act violated professional obligations and principles of administrative morality.
The ruling also noted that Thurber was using a cell phone during work hours, reinforcing the purpose of abuse. For the commission, the episode showed “abuse of power for personal and unfair advantage.”
A 30-day suspension without pay is a penalty for serious offenses in local public services. The Ministry of Education did not say whether the servers would be reassigned after completing their sentences.
