Today, the popular jury unanimously declared Cesar Sena guilty as the author of the material for the murder of Cecilia Strzyzowski, while finding Marcela Acuña and Emerenciano Sena liable for their necessary involvement in the crime.
Griselda Reynoso was acquitted on charges of concealing a crime, and Gustavo Melgarejo, Fabiana González and Gustavo Obregon were found guilty of the same charges.
After more than 24 hours of deliberations, the victim’s husband, Cesar Sena, was found criminally responsible for double aggravated murder by bondage and mediation of gender violence.
In this sense, Judge Dory Fernández pointed out that the popular jury unanimously found Piquetero leaders Marcela Acuña and Emerenciano Sena guilty of being considered necessary participants in the murder that took place in Chaco on June 2, 2023.
Gustavo Briento, Gloria Romero’s mother, the victim’s mother, said in an interaction with reporters that “a caesula hearing will be set in the next few days.”
Meanwhile, speaking to Agencia Noticias Argentinas, one of Emerenciano’s lawyers, Ricardo Osuna, confirmed the appeal, saying: “My client is normal and that was one of the possibilities for the verdict.” The lawyer added that Acuña was “calm” because he “already knew” the jury would convict him.

Minister of Security Patricia Brulich today praised the conviction of Cesar Sena as the actual author of the murder of Cecilia Strzyzowski and the judgment that deemed Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acuña to be necessary participants in the crime.
“Justice has been served, and when it comes, it must be clear and exemplary,” the official said in response to the Chaco court’s ruling.
Bullrich remembered his visit to the Sena family’s neighborhood and once again wondered about their territorial power structure. “I was in the Sena district. The feudalists, the owners of the territory, and the lives of the people. That’s how they felt,” he said.
The minister also emphasized the brutality of the crime, saying, “Cecilia Strzyzowski was murdered and burned for hours. They believed that political protection and a kind of ‘feminist’ silence would save them.” “There was nothing that could save them. They were charged. They are in prison,” he concluded.
