Have you had any health issues, logistics, delays or even withdrawals? Find out if you’ll be allowed to attend the second day of the test and if it’s worth it
This Sunday, the 9th, students from all over the country will participate in the first exam of the 2025 National High School Selection Examination (ENEM). Also, will those who were unable to participate in the second exam to be held on the 16th still be able to participate?
Yes, regardless of the reason for your absence, even if you are absent from the first day, you can still participate on the second day of Enem. Opportunities to gain experience with tests are useful.
Attendance on the second day is even more important for candidates who benefit from registration fee waivers. This is because if you are absent, you can apply for exemption again the following year, provided you provide a valid reason when registering.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) will be responsible for analyzing the reasons provided and it will be essential that exempted students attend the exams to avoid losing this benefit in the future.
What happens if I only participate on the second day?
The National Institute for Educational Research Anisio Teixeira (Inep) allows candidates who are absent on the first day to sit the exam on the second day. However, participation on the second day will only be for self-evaluation.
To use your Enem score in the selection process for programs and universities such as SiSU, ProUni, and Fies, you must have taken both exam dates. If you only participate on the second day, the system will only display scores for tests taken on the day you participate.
All of these programs have a requirement that candidates obtain a score greater than 0 on the Enem writing test. Considering that the essay applies only to the first day, candidates who appear only on the second day do not meet this basic criterion.
Even if there were no such requirements, getting a zero on the first-day test, which includes Languages, Code and Techniques, Writing, and Human Sciences and Techniques, would make it difficult to get a competitive average to compete effectively in your program.
health or logistical issues;
If you miss Enem due to a health issue, such as an infection, or a logistical problem during the exam, you can request to reapply for the exam.
Logistical issues may include natural disasters that affect test center infrastructure, power shortages that impair test visibility, failures in electronic equipment provided for screen reader use, and errors in the application process that prove to be detrimental to test takers.
Infectious diseases that may warrant re-application include tuberculosis, pertussis, diphtheria, invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae, meningitis, smallpox, influenza, polio, measles, rubella, varicella, and COVID-19.
How do I apply for re-application?
If you fall into any of the above situations and wish to reapply, you must do so within 5 business days of the last day of your test. Applications are made from the participant page.
In the case of infectious diseases, a legible document evidencing the symptoms motivating the application, including the participant’s full name, a medical certificate with a description of the symptoms, a code corresponding to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10) or the signature and identification of the competent expert, must be presented together with the respective registration from the Regional Medical Council (CRM), Ministry of Health (RMS) or competent authority.
