El Paz has learned of a preliminary report from the military revealing the identities of 14 of the 19 people killed in an army bombing in the Amazonian department of Guaviare. President Gustavo Petro and Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez defended military action allegedly directed against fake rebels Ivan Mordisco And they publicly admitted that the fire started because of the presence of minors in the area.
A report compiled by the public prosecutor’s office revealed the identities of five children, but forensic authorities have already confirmed that there are seven minor victims. This newspaper refrains from publishing their photos, but their identities will be revealed with the prior permission of their families. The youngest of them is Karen Smith Cubillos Milana, 13, from Puerto Santander (Norte de Santander) but raised in the city of La Pedrera, Amazonas state.
The other minor is Dani Santiago Leighton Cuellar, 15, born in Fortul (Arauca). Deini Lorena Beltrán Mendoza (16 years old), born in Tib, Norte de Santander. Maicol Andres Pérez Avila, 16, from Miraflores (Guaviare) and Marta Elena Abarca Vilches, 17, from Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo.
The other person killed in the bombing was Francie Nonocud Gomez, 18, from Solano (Caqueta). Harold Steven Villamil Villaraga, 20 years old, from Bogotá. John Freddy Acosta Morales (19 years old), born in the city of El Retorno (Guaviare). Ediel Fabian Montaño Valencia (20 years old) from Policarpa (Nariño). Elizabeth Cuellar Rodriguez (20 years old), born in Armenia (Kindio). Faber Hillelas Gamboa (19 years old), born in El Charco (Nariño). Yan Carlos Martinez Rivera, 22 years old, from Puerto Leguizamo (Putumayo). José Edilberto Pito Casso, 31 years old, from Silvia (Cauca), raised in Bogota. Exenover Barbosa Pescador, 32 years old, from Mapiripan (Meta).
According to official documents, authorities are awaiting full identification of the four men and one woman and contact with their relatives. This newspaper was able to establish that the minor’s family is already in the process of requesting the body for funeral honors and transportation.
