This Friday (November 14), the Imperial Christmas celebrations began in Pontin do Lago Sul, marking the official start of the Federal District’s Christmas program. This year’s decorations focus on classic, immersive environments, with attractions ranging from a 14-metre-tall tree to a Nativity scene set within the illuminated structure itself.

Pontin’s marketing manager Lydia Alves said the proposal was to transform the area into a fantastic fantasy setting.
“This year we have hosted an Imperial Christmas, which aims to transport the public to a magical environment and create unforgettable memories.”

The highlight is the Christmas Village, which is a collection of Instagram-worthy spaces such as Santa Claus House and a monument tree.
“It’s a village with a huge tree. And this year’s Nativity scene is something new for the public. It’s inside a Christmas tree with an opening.”
Color refers to the classic Christmas style with an emphasis on color and light.
“We worked with classics, greens, reds and golds. We worked with Renaissance furniture, tapestries and everything else that was prepared to create this environment for the public.”
The program runs through January 6 and includes presentations, activities and a visit to Santa’s home.

GDF announces expansion of programs and social actions
José Humberto, Secretary of the Government of the Federal District, who attended the event, emphasized that Pontan symbolically marks the beginning of year-end celebrations in the DF.
“We are virtually opening Christmas here in the Federal District of Pontin with this beautiful festival that is already traditional and very beautiful.”
DF Government Secretary Jose Humberto Pires
He recalled that in Brasilia, special lighting will be carried out for one month on the Esplanade and on attractions located throughout the city.
“Here in Brasilia, we have 30 days of Christmas decorations with some very important attractions, and then we have the traditional New Year’s Eve.”
During his visit to the event, Government Secretary José Humberto emphasized that Pontan has established itself as one of the capital’s main postcards.
“Pontan is already and has been the most visited tourist destination in Brasilia for a long time. People come to experience gastronomy and enjoy a comfortable environment. After visiting the Cathedral, the JK Monument and the Esplanade, they want to come here and enjoy this wonderful space.”

Zeca Lima kicks off Christmas with a special show
The official opening featured a show by musician Zeka Lima, who reinterpreted Christmas with a varied repertoire and genres for all ages.
“My style is very eclectic. I love all styles, and I feel that today’s public is also more eclectic. So my show has a very diverse repertoire.”
Zeca Lima
He explains that the Christmas spirit is an invitation to love and nostalgia.
“Christmas time is an important time not only for children, but also for all adults who live their inner child. It is at Christmas time that we begin to feel this spirit that lasts from November to December. God willing, we can extend Christmas so that we can be more human throughout the year.”
The singer called on the citizens of Brasilia to participate.
“So, people of Brasilia, come here to Pontan in Lago Sul. The decorations are beautiful, the house of Santa Claus is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful. Pontan itself is already doing us good. Bring your children, bring your loved ones. There will be moments of joy and many emotions.”
