This Saturday (8/11), the Capega Reservoir in Campina Grande burst, destroying a house and leaving one person dead and others injured. Immediately after the destruction, special forces were called in to clear rubble from the Plata area and assist victims.

The emergency action included teams from the Civil Defense Department, the Military Fire Service and the Paraiba Water and Sewerage Company (Kagepa), as well as officials from the state’s infrastructure, water resources and human development departments.
The operation was coordinated by Lieutenant Governor Lucas Ribeiro, who remained in the city throughout the day to monitor the rescue and cleanup operations.
“Paraíba is cooperating with Campina. From the first hours, we have been acting in an integrated manner to mitigate the effects of the tragedy caused by the bursting of the Callepa reservoir,” said the lieutenant governor.
