This Saturday (8/11), Federal Police (PF) carried out a technical anti-bomb security sweep at the Blue Zone facility of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belem (Pennsylvania), an area where official discussions of the event will take place.
The action, coordinated by the PF, included the joint participation of the army and state police, under the mandate of the National Public Security Service (Senasp) and monitored by the United Nations Department for Security and Protection (UNDSS).

“The purpose of counter-bomb and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) countermeasures is to ensure that outer space is completely safe before being formally handed over to the United Nations,” the company memo said.

During the conference, which begins this Monday (October 11th) and runs until November 21st, the Blue Zone will take on a special character, resembling an embassy. As a result, the United Nations headquarters in New York will be temporarily “relocated” to the capital state of Pará.
The main objective of COP30 is to comply with the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
Last week, during the Climate Summit, an event that brings together world leaders before the conference, Brazil launched a climate financing mechanism that it hopes will increase contributions, mainly from rich countries.
