Rio de Janeiro Governor Claudio Castro (PL) told allies that he now feels like a celebrity after a massive police operation that killed more than 100 people in the capital.
In a private conversation, Mr. Castro reported that after his surgery in the state, members of Congress and members of the public who had previously ignored him began demanding photos and videos with the governor.

This Tuesday (28th), approximately 2,500 civilian police officers and military police will take part in a “containment operation” in the Peña and Alemao complexes in Rio’s northern region, with the aim of executing approximately 100 arrest warrants and 150 search and seizure warrants against members of the Commando Vermelho faction.

Castro even joked that as an ally, “I feel like an ex-BBB,” referring to the harassment that contestants of the reality show “Big Brother Brazil” suffered immediately after they left the show.

But Castro said he knows the euphoria is temporary and remains “grounded.” Therefore, he has already scrapped the presidential plan proposed by his allies in recent days.
